    The 36th Scattering Research Conference

Light scattering, X-ray scattering, and neutron scattering methods are sophisticated analytical techniques for soft matter and dispersed systems such as polymers and colloidal particles. Once a year, the “Scattering Research Conference” is held to (1) explain the basics of scattering, and (2) present “state-of-the-art measurement techniques” and “novel research presentations using scattering”. And surprise, surprise, participation is free of charge. Every year, many researchers from various industries, research institutes, and academia visit the conference.

On Friday, November 22, 2024, Prof. Norisuye served as a lecturer at the 36th Scattering Research Conference, where he gave a fundamental lecture in the morning. Especially in the morning basic course, knowledge of static light scattering, dynamic light scattering, and electrophoresis methods are often introduced, but this year was the year of dynamic light scattering, which is held once every three years. This meeting is good not only for seminar presentations, but also for taking questions from the attendees and having a separate time for all the lecturers to explain the results. This year also we received a very large number of questions and discussions.
